Vegan Chickpea and Sweet Potato Burger

Ingredients:
  • 1 BakerVille Rustic Style burger bun
  • 100g cooked chickpeas
  • 1 small sweet potato (about 150g)
  • 1 small onion (finely chopped)
  • 2 cloves of garlic (finely chopped)
  • 2 tbsp oat flour
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 lettuce leaf
  • 1 slice tomato
  • 1 slice pickled cucumber
  • 1 tbsp vegan mayonnaise
Preparation method:
  • Peel the sweet potato, cut it into cubes and cook until soft, then mash it into a puree. Mix the sweet potato puree with the chickpeas, onion, garlic, oat flour, cumin and smoked paprika in a bowl. Season with salt and pepper. Shape the mixture into a patty and fry in olive oil over a medium heat for about 5 minutes on each side, until the patty is golden and crispy.

    Cut the bun in half and warm it up in the oven or on a grill. Spread vegan mayonnaise on the bottom half of the bun. Layer with a lettuce leaf, the chickpea and sweet potato patty, a slice of tomato and a slice of pickled cucumber.
  • Serving:
    Serve immediately after preparation to enjoy the freshness and full flavour. The vegan chickpea and sweet potato burger is a fantastic alternative to traditional meat burgers.
  • Additional tips:
    You can add avocado slices for extra creaminess. For enhanced flavour, try adding a few drops of your favourite vegan BBQ sauce.
