Vegan Burger with Beetroot

Ingredients:
  • 1 BakerVille sesame burger bun
  • 1 medium beetroot (about 150g)
  • 100g canned chickpeas (drained)
  • 1 small onion (finely chopped)
  • 2 cloves of garlic (finely chopped)
  • 2 tbsp chickpea flour
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 lettuce leaf
  • 1 slice tomato
  • 1 slice pickled cucumber
  • 1 tbsp vegan mayonnaise
Preparation method:
  • Peel the beetroot and grate it using a fine grater. Mix the grated beetroot, chickpeas, onion, garlic, chickpea flour, cumin and smoked paprika in a bowl. Season with salt and pepper. Shape the mixture into a patty and fry in olive oil over a medium heat for about 5 minutes on each side, until the patty is golden and crispy.

    Cut the bun in half and warm it up in the oven or on a grill. Spread vegan mayonnaise on the bottom half of the bun. Layer with a lettuce leaf, the beetroot patty, a slice of tomato and a slice of pickled cucumber.
  • Serving:
    Serve immediately after preparation to enjoy the freshness and full flavour. The vegan beetroot burger is a fantastic alternative to traditional meat burgers.
  • Additional tips:
    You can add avocado slices for extra creaminess. For enhanced flavour, try adding a few drops of your favourite vegan BBQ sauce.
