Vegan Lentil Burger
Ingredients:
- 1 BakerVille Classic burger bun
- 100g red lentils
- 1 small carrot (grated)
- 1 small onion (finely chopped)
- 2 cloves of garlic (finely chopped)
- 2 tbsp chickpea flour
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp ground coriander
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 lettuce leaf
- 1 slice tomato
- 1 slice pickled cucumber
- 1 tbsp regular or vegan mayonnaise
Preparation method:
-
Cook the lentils according to the package instructions until soft, then drain and cool. Mix the cooked lentils with the grated carrot, onion, garlic, chickpea flour, cumin and ground coriander in a bowl. Season with salt and pepper. Shape the mixture into a patty and fry in olive oil over a medium heat for about 5 minutes on each side, until the patty is golden and crispy.
Cut the bun in half and warm it up in the oven or on a grill. Spread vegan mayonnaise on the bottom half of the bun. Layer with a lettuce leaf, the lentil patty, a slice of tomato and a slice of pickled cucumber. -
Serving:Serve immediately after preparation to enjoy the freshness and full flavour. The vegan lentil burger is a fantastic alternative to traditional meat burgers.
-
Additional tips:You can add avocado slices for extra creaminess. For enhanced flavour, try adding a few drops of your favourite vegan BBQ sauce.
